Let's start in the middle...

A few weeks back I came up with this idea to start a blog. It was not with any intention to draw readers, but rather to express and encourage my own craft of writing. While I would like to refer to myself as “creative,” the reality is that I spent some time looking myself in the mirror the other day, and I realized that one who does not actively excavate creativity in their day often finds their own creativity waning. The affects of this can be varied, and none of which are pleasant. It’s kind of like finding hints of those deep wrinkles that are beginning to form between your eyebrows. Those that make you look much meaner or serious than you really are. Those are the worst kind.

Thus, I began to create this platform – a place to house my creative energy. I could have simply bought another journal and pulled out a pen from my drawer, but there is something to the online “blogosphere” that holds one accountable to active contribution. Why create a blog if you do not intend to actively participate in it?

Now, comes the content. Rather that start with any one profound thought, I prefer to let them roll seamlessly out during the course of a long-term relationship with this blog. If you are thinking that this is a great way to circumvent the reality that I don’t actually have a profound thought on which to base the content of my blog, then you might be right. Or, the profound nature of my writing or the morsels of profundity found hidden in the midst of these ramblings might actually prove both of us wrong. I figured that I would stick around to see what the reality becomes. Will you?
